MEET VASU
Vasu Reddy has been the Treasury Director – Africa for GE Inc, until 2021 based in South Africa.
Vasu’s areas of expertise include being a Trusted business advisor providing strategic and operational leadership on global funding, cash and liquidity strategies, Investments, loans/borrowings, Dividends and repatriation, foreign exchange exposure management, bank relationships including Central Banks and bank regulation, Trade and transactional solutions, Bank and Credit Risk, Customer/project financing deal, Debt Factoring, Insurance, M&A and project management in emerging markets spanning 25+ countries.
Vasu joined GE from Chevron Oil Inc where he was the Senior Treasury Manager, covering South & Central Africa for 7 years and prior to that was at Land and Development Bank of SA before spending 6 years at Woolworths Holdings Ltd in various Treasury and Accounting roles. He is a highly experienced professional with 25 years’ Treasury, banking and Finance experience having worked in Multinational companies in Retail, Banking, Oil & Gas and diversified Global industries and capital businesses.
Vasu holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree, Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and an Honours degree in Financial Management from the University of Cape Town. Vasu has completed the Leadership Executive Program (LEP) at the Graduate School of Business, Cape Town and attended Advanced leadership courses at the GE Institute of Management, New York. Vasu is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) with the Association of Financial professionals, USA and has been on various Podcasts/panel discussions/presentations on Multiple Treasury forums and at Euro Finance, London.
Vasu enjoys Gyming, running, yoga and reading.
