The Private Equity Intern will support ESquare Capital’s private equity investments for tech companies. This role provides hands-on experience in strategic-, & financial analysis, deal support and growth capital strategies. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals on live projects, gaining exposure to tech investments, deal structuring, and general transaction exposure. This position is ideal for ambitious, driven students who want to engage in demanding teamwork while having fun and who are passionate about technology, finance, and entrepreneurship, eager to develop both their hard- and soft skills in a demanding, dynamic environment.

Position Title
Private Equity Intern (March 2026 onwards)
Location
Utrecht, Netherlands (Primary – Creative Valley; Stationsplein); Hybrid
Duration
Min. 3 Months (March – June 2025, with potential for extension and/or permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
• Financial Analysis and Modeling: Build and refine financial models for investment valuations, growth scenarios and underlying business plans. Analyze financial statements and market data to support ESquare’s investment decisions, combining open source, closed data while using Artificial Intelligence.
• Investment Research: Conduct research on tech sectors (e.g., SaaS, robotics, IoT, high-tech) to identify investment opportunities for ESquare’s funds. Prepare reports on market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential portfolio companies.
• Transaction Deliverables: Closely collaborate with senior professionals to prepare investment presentations, return analyses, and strategic recommendations. Participate in live meetings to gain insights into tech entrepreneurship and investor dynamics.
• Team Collaboration: Work in cross-functional teams to streamline data processes and enhance reporting for investment projects. Contribute ideas to improve workflows and client outcomes.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor or Master student pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.
• Strong analytical skills with (preferably) proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Basic knowledge of corporate finance, private equity, or M&A is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights and collaborating with teams.
• Comfortable with AI, research tools and data analysis; familiarity with tech sectors (SaaS, IoT, robotics, high-tech) is an advantage.
