For our Trade Finance Services department within the Operations Division, Back Office, we are looking for a Trade Finance Services Specialist at our Amsterdam office (40 hours)

The preferred candidate shall be responsible for the correct processing and administration of all types of trade products; letter of credit, collection, guarantee and bills discount. (S)he will be working closely with the front office(s) to ensure optimal customer service.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our Trade Finance team. In this back office role, you will be crucial in managing various trade finance operations, ensuring compliance, and fostering strong relationships with our clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Letters of Credit: Issue, advise, and confirm Letters of Credit, meticulously scrutinizing documents to ensure strict compliance with organizational policies and Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP) guidelines.
  • Manage Collections: Efficiently process collections in accordance with Uniform Rules for Collections (URC) guidelines.
  • Issue Bank Guarantees: Prepare and advise bank guarantees.
  • Execute Transactions: Accurately input and authorize transactions within the core banking system and Swift Alliance.
  • Reconcile & Support: Perform transaction-based reconciliation and serve as a primary operational contact for both internal and external counterparties within our trade finance network.
  • Stay Informed: Monitor internal and external publications for developments in the trade finance business.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Coordinate closely with other departments to foster teamwork and optimize internal and external customer interactions.
  • Participate in UAT: Engage in User Acceptance Testing for system changes or improvements.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: Up-to-date Trade Finance knowledge, with a minimum of 3 years (strict requirement) documents checking/scrutinizing experience under letters of credit.
  • Education: An HBO or equivalent degree, preferably in Banking and Financial Services with a focus on trade finance, CDCS certification is a plus.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in both verbal and written English. Dutch language skills are a significant plus.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and promote teamwork.
  • Organizational Prowess: Strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills to efficiently meet objectives.
  • Proactive Mindset: Eager to embrace new opportunities and challenges with urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Hands-on Approach: A practical, active involvement in tasks and problem-solving.
