As the Domain Lead ALM within the new Finance Grid, you are responsible for managing the ALM DevOps teams that support ALM and relevant stakeholders with up to date tools, relevant insights and reports.
The Asset & Liability Management (ALM) department is responsible for managing the bank’s balance sheet and associated interest rate-, liquidity- and capital risks. Are you hands-on, result oriented and eager to support ALM with high quality, solid model implementations and relevant (IT) solutions? Are you able to understand complex matter, able to see the bigger picture and do you have managerial/ leadership experience and affinity?
Your job
You are responsible for the ALM domain within the Finance Grid. The ALM domain consists of seven DevOps teams (~ 55 fte) which are organized along the subjects of Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, Funds Transfers Pricing and Data Sourcing. Your direct reports are the four Product Owners and the Expert Lead Business Developer. You also have close alignment with the IT lead and the DevOps Coach.
The work of the ALM domain is concentrated around calculating ALM metrics and creating relevant insights for the purpose of Balance Sheet Management monitoring and steering, and required reporting. This includes data collection and processing, models and solutions implementations and maintenance, and supporting (weekly and) monthly processes and the IT landscape.
You manage the teams by ensuring that the long term goals of ALM, Finance and the Bank as a whole are clear and supported. You make sure that cross team priorities and dependencies are well aligned and managed and where necessary actively steer on this. You develop and build a professional way of working with clear and solid processes and communication, a constructive challenging mindset, open and collaborative culture, promote ownership and improvement.
You maintain good relationships with your stakeholders, with the goal to maximize value for the ALM function, stay in control of the processes and build future proof solutions. You manage the balance between IT4IT and ALM stakeholder priorities. Within the broader context of the Finance & Risk Business Grids (FRBG), you are well aware of the long term FRBG goals, more specifically the FRBG data and IT architecture and align the ALM domain’s work to this.
Working environment
You will work in a diverse, dynamic and international team that works according to the scaled agile method and is organized in accordance with DevOps way of working. The stakeholder field you need to manage mainly consists of the ALM department itself, 2nd line ALM, ALM Risk modelling, Risk Reporting and Model Validation. Also, the data sources delivering parties are important stakeholders. Ultimately the ALCO and other BRC committees are also our stakeholders since the reports, insights and analyses that are discussed in these committees are based on our input. We also have dependencies on the other F&R Grid domains (e.g. Reporting, Controlling, Accounting).
Your profile
You are experienced in leading a team and ambitious to further develop your managerial and leadership skills. In addition to an interest in/ affinity with complex and analytical matters, also a sense of organizational dynamics, taking responsibility and standing firmly in your shoes is important. You are a strong communicator and are able to see the bigger picture.

- 10 (or more) years of work experience, of which 3+ years in managerial role
- Drive to improve self and the team
- Proactive posture, constructively challenging
- Communication in English is necessary at times
- Knowledge of/ affinity with ALM/ Finance/ Risk
- Knowledge of/ affinity with change management and delivery
